Widad Kawar stands among Palestinian and Jordanian traditional dresses at her home in Amman October 30, 2006. Kawar owns hundreds of dresses comprising of the biggest collection of traditional attires in the Middle East, some dating back to the beginning of the 20th century. Kawar views her collection as a form of resistance to the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories and a way in which to preserve the Arab identity.
